Company History
The Beginning
It all started February of 1994 when Jose Arellano (owner of Arellano Trucking) decided to join his older brothers in becoming a CDL driver. He was as hard-working as they came; winning various safety and driver awards year after year. Quickly into his driving career, Jose chose to invest in his own semi-truck and become an owner operator. He saw the value of steel transportation and was committed to investing more into the industry. In 1996, Jose decided to officially open for business as Arellano Trucking Incorporated. In 1999, he invested in a 3-acre property in Gary, Indiana. This location continues to serve as company headquarters to this day. As the company grew, Jose had to step off the truck and manage the office. By 2006, the company had a total of 7 trucks and 6 drivers. Jose was managing a fleet of as many as 15 trucks by 2008.
Jose felt he must be aware of every aspect of his business and always remember his roots. This is why he would hop back in the truck from time to time to join his fellow drivers on the road while continuing to manage the company. He shared this value with his only son, Jose Armando Arellano, and had him work for the company every summersince he was 16. In December of 2017, Jose Armando graduated from the Kelley School of Business with a degree in Finance and Accounting and soon after joined the company as the Vice President. With his son joining the business, Jose knew it was time to expand. Arellano Trucking earned its own DOT authority in April of 2018. They knew that with time and dedication they would grow into a valuable and dependable company that their customers can depend on.
